Dave Bland engineering are currently supplying their new stainless steel locker body system, an exciting concept developed during a year of research into the use of high quality stainless steel sections and comparisons with coated carbon steels and other materials which have poor corrosive resistance.
The results have produced a far superior alternative, a lighter, stronger body more resistant to corrosion it's durable, maintenance is low and it provides long service, helping to meet the demands placed on todays modern Recovery Operator.
For this application Dave Bland has chosen a product which is recognised as the original and the world's most specified utility stainless steel. It provides benefits such as good weldability and formability, making it capable of fabrication by conventional techniques. Atmospheric corrosion testing has given corrosion rates as low as 0.001-0.002mm/year (0.00004"-0.00008"/year) in modern marine environments, an improvment of 250 times the life of unpainted mild steel under the same conditions. The design advantages offer by this stainless steel are superior strength over mild steel such as BSEN 10113 Grade Fe430A (AISI 1018 or ASTM A36) an equal level of stiffness, superior corrosion resistance, enhanced resisitance to wet abrasion plus its ability over a wider temperature range.
In summary Dave Bland's new Stainless Steel Locker Body system can offer the following benefits to you, the operator:
- Outstanding corrosion resistance
- 250 times greater corrosion resistance than mild steel
- Offers high strength and low weight design options
- Durability and long service
- Finish painted in 2 paint packs
