Yet Another One For Jacksons

After meeting Dave Bland at an early AVRO show in the nineties, Cumbria based operators Jacksons Recovery placed their first order with the Yorkshire bodybuilder in 1993 for a Leyland DAF 45 slide body. It’s fair to say that they’ve stuck with Dave Bland almost from the very beginning!
Even as recent as a couple of months ago, company director David Jackson took delivery of a Mercedes Atego 1323 Crew Cab, the first they’ve had to be fitted with the DBE Ultraloader SLA and 1500kg spectacle lift.
The vehicle boasts a specialist high flyer to suit the high cab (which was previously a sleeper cab and has been converted into a crew cab) 2 chassis lockers, wrecker kit and stainless steel spool box. Also fitted were 4 LED strobes around the flyer, 2 LED strobes on the front grill and 9 arch marker lights - which Mr Jackson says, “looks the business in the dark”.

Jacksons Recovery have recently acquired a contract with the RAC, adding to their current Mondial and Green Flag contracts. They also work closely with car and commercial dealerships, so needless to say quality is paramount when placing orders for any equipment. Mr Jackson commented, “It is a quality product at the right price. This vehicle replaces the ‘93 Leyland DAF slide body, which we had very little problems with, and is still in working order today. This shows great quality”.

Over the duration of their custom to DBE, Jacksons have bought numerous slidebeds, spec lifts, beavertails and now the Ultraloader SLA. Mr Jackson added “We are very impressed with this vehicle. The build quality is second to none and something that is a rarity was the completion date, which was tight in the first place, but was hit early with even a few days spare”.
