CMG Rescue Services Take Third Dave Bland Vehicle This Year

Posted 24th November 2010

On the 10th of November 2010, Mark Cowan Of CMG Rescue services, was supplied with a brand new Tilt and Slide Ultraloader, courtesy of Dave Bland Engineering.

Mark’s 18 tonne Volvo crew-cab chassis was fitted with a 5000kg SLA Tilt and Slide body, with a 2500kg lie-flat upper deck and a 2000kg spec lift.

Mark commented, "This is our 9th Dave Bland product in 4 years, every time we have dealt with Dave we have found him both professional and understanding to our needs".

Introduced recently in 2010, CMG rescue services’ recent fleet addition featured Dave Bland’s new wider top deck, which offers a wider working space than the lower deck. Probably the only one of its kind currently available on the market, these wide lie-flat upper decks allow the operator to uplift a wider range vehicles, improving the versatility of the recovery vehicle. Many operators do offer a lie-flat upper deck, however most of these are restricted by ram mountings, minimising the capability of the system entirely.

The vehicle has also been fitted with a very specific locker and equipment scheme – dealt with directly between Mark Cowan and Dave Bland. Mark explains, "All of our vehicles are fitted with a standard recovery and auxiliary kit list which Dave Bland engineering understands fully. They already know how we have the stowage laid out for optimum performance from our operators".

Dave also added, "I believe customer relation is extremely important, and I like to fully understand the demands of my client so that everyone in my factory can carry out the job to exact detail. Mark’s designs and ideas in terms of locker systems and equipment layout are so individual that we now have specific instruction manuals specifically for the fitting-out of his vehicles, to further improve our efficiency and quality. We are constantly aiming to raise the bar just that little bit further wherever we can".

Mark’s vehicle also benefits from the use of Dave Bland stainless steel lockers and rear-light valance, as well as the protective and highly cutting-edge, fully enclosed stainless steel spool valve box.

Mark told us, "As an operator it is paramount that the vehicle built is not only to the highest standard but also portrays the image that CMG need to show. All of our DB products are double manned and are more than up to the job".
