Beeches Recovery add DBE Slidebody to Fleet

Posted 18th March 2011

The team at Beeches Recovery know that to deliver a quality service, they have to be backed up by a quality vehicle, and that’s why the well-established breakdown recovery company based in Birmingham came to Dave Bland Engineering for their most recent vehicle.

Amar Nandra, Director of the company, took delivery of a brand new Renault Midlum 12 tonne slidebody from Dave Bland’s Northern-based factory close to York.

Founded over 30 years ago, Beeches Recovery covers Birmingham and the greater West Midlands area and already operates a fleet of some twenty recovery vehicles.

Director Amar Nandra stated, "As we experienced a consistent increase in our workflow, especially long distance recoveries and requests to move large vans, it was soon apparent that we required a new slidebody recovery vehicle.

“The latest addition to our fleet not only provides us with versatility as we can move a wide variety of casualty vehicles but also reliability which is essential for us as our vehicles are in constant use.

“Moreover, the second car lift provides us with added flexibility as we can move two vehicles together thereby reducing operating costs."

Beeches Recovery came to Dave Bland Engineering for its latest vehicle requirement, as feedback from other customers was very positive.  Mr Nandra states "Many well-known and reputable recovery operators had purchased vehicles from DBE and were more than pleased with their purchases. I was so impressed by what I had heard that I contacted Dave immediately."

The vehicle boasts just a few of the new stainless steel features introduced by DBE for 2011.

New this year, Dave Bland Engineering launches a brand new spool valve box design. What makes this spool valve box so unique, is that the hoses enclosed terminate at the back of the box, and from there, are led off to various parts of the vehicle via bulkhead fittings.

The box is fully enclosed, contrary to most standard spool valve boxes on the market, which have large cutouts to the rear to facilitate for the fitment of hydraulic hoses.

However, the now-standard spool valve box that DBE supplies ensures that vital equipment is fully protected from the effects of road sprays and grit – elements that can significantly effect fittings with time.

The front of the box is also fully removable, which makes any alterations/repairs to the fittings inside a much easier and less time-consuming task.

The use of stainless steel was applied in the production of the tool lockers also, meaning that the equipment has a longer service life, whereas before, the operator would’ve been spending money every year to replace rusted and shoddy looking body fittings made out of plastic or mild steel

Amar Nandra, who is extremely happy with his latest purchase, adds "I would recommend Dave Bland Engineering to anyone looking for a new recovery vehicle.  The build quality is excellent and we look forward to developing a strong business relationship with Dave and his team."
